a calendar month. If there are no positions to fill, the Building Sub will be an extra hands on deck at the school for the day. If a Building Sub does not have a job scheduled 7 days in advance, they will automatically populate into the open Classroom Teacher and Classroom support position.
Building Subs do not sub for Food Services or Custodial Services. This is a temporary position and not eligible for benefits. Requirements: Building Substitute Requirements: A bachelor's degree or an Alaska Teaching Certificate is preferred to be a Building Substitute, but not required.
The tutor advisor should be prepared to work with students in need of academic intervention. Knowledge: Completed two years (48 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education; or obtained an associates degree or met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local backssment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness.
) Skills: Ability to maintain effective communication with students and staff and to function effectively as a team member. Ability to carry out and evaluate the achievement of students
after the teacher prepares the lesson and plans the instructional support activities. Ability to test and identify and keep accurate records on new and existing students.
Demonstrate an adequate level of instructional technology skills. Experience and training working with children with diverse backgrounds in an instructional setting.
