In this role, you will be responsible for the direction and management of the daily outbound operations, overseeing revenue, profit and cost controls, and ensuring

Primary Duties (5-7 Key responsibilities) Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve process quality. Coaches and mentors direct reports in order to provide leadership counseling and advice to managers. Leads CIP (continuous improvement process) projects within distribution department. Demonstrate practical application of quality concepts such as 5S and Kaizen to improve quality performance of assigned area of responsibility.
Must possess ability to organize work activities and produce successful results. Make effective use of available resources, including staff. Stay on schedule and meeting commitments. Effective follow-up and prompt corrective action ensuring results are achieved. Coordinate distribution activities to obtain optimum utilization of human resources, warehouse management system and equipment. Reviews and analyzes distribution reports to determine causes of nonconformity with outbound order requirements and customer service objectives.
Work effectively with others in a collaborative environment. To the extent appropriate, creates and maintains an environment which encourages others to work together to achieve business goals. Tracks performance, both accuracy and productivity, at the individual level and takes corrective actions to help individuals meet performance objectives. Must possess the communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate at all levels of the organization to move projects through the organization and lead project teams. Compiles, stores, and retrieves distribution data. Deliver and install welding and propane cages at new Thoroughbred customer sites. Maintain running checklist of customer needs and schedule timely follow up and follow through. Work in Thoroughbred warehouse and build Gaspony products for distribution to customers. Provide backup to the Operations Manager and Warehouse Manager as needed. Travel to Thoroughbred customer locations to conduct workshops and training at locations for new customers/employees. Work with local Fire Marshalls/Municipalities
to ensure safe installation of Thoroughbred welding and propane cages.
Complete all monthly reports on time. Establish a routine for contacting, checking on customers, and identifying potential opportunities and threats. Maintain and demonstrate a positive attitude with all associates, customers, vendors, and other business partners. Meet goals and objectives set by and with management. Execute other tasks as may be assigned by management. Qualifications and Education Requirements: High School Diploma/ GED. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred. Preferred Skills: A working knowledge of Industrial Welding experience preferred.
Strong time management, rapport building, networking, superb interpersonal and communication skills. Goal oriented and self-motivated. Microsoft office experience required: specifically; Outlook, Word, and Excel. Valid drivers' license and clean driving record. TRAVEL SHOULD BE EXPECTED 50% OF THE TIME.
