Supervisor/Consultant Full Time, Selected Exempt Service Position Salary: $38,325.04/annually Open Competitive Opportunity This requisition may be used to fill multiple positions within the Bureau and drawn from to fill vacancies as they occur Your Specific Responsibilities: This position is responsible for assisting the Senior Management Analyst Supervisor in implementing and administering laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures with regard to licensing authority of shop permit professions under the jurisdiction of the Board of shop.
The specific duties and responsibilities of the position include: All supervisor duties for two (2) Regulatory Specialist II positions, one (1)
Regulatory Specialist III position, and one (1) OPS Regulatory Specialist II position. This includes, but is not limited to, planning workloads, workflows, deadlines, and work objectives to ensure compliance with statutory and rule deadlines; communicating weekly with staff to review productivity reports and ensuring that policies and procedures are followed.
It also includes hiring and selection, maintaining updated position descriptions, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, ensuring staff receives necessary training, including in the use of the Division's licensing and enforcement database; approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. Interpreting,
applying, and implementing applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to shop licensing in Florida for applicants, licensees and internal stakeholders.
This also includes assisting in the development and modification of rules, policies and procedures regarding shop licensure; Serving as the first point of contact for training needs, technical support, information dissemination, and trouble-shooting user problems for the Board of shop; Maintaining up-to-date information on the Board website regarding licensing, renewals, applications, contact information and other information relevant to applicants, licensees and the public; Performing final reviews of licensure applications and credentials and makes recommendations to the administrator for presentations to the Florida Board of shop regarding eligibility for licensure; Working with the Board Executive Director, Program Operations Administrator, Senior Management Analyst Supervisor, and board counsel to update applications and prepare for Board review; Conducting necessary research and preparing statistical and other data reports relating to licensure, discipline, budget, and other functions of the board within established deadlines; Managing set-up and changes to form letters and task inventories, data cleanup and other issues related to the Division's licensing database related to shop permitting and licensure; Attending all Ambassador meetings or sending a delegate and serving on process improvement teams and other work groups; Making presentations to the Board, Board Committees and Universities and representing the Board and the department at meetings; Serving as alternate custodian of records for the Board of shop licensing records; Participating in the Board office management and leadership team, handling special projects or activities and performs special assignments for the Program Operations Administrator, Senior Management Analyst Supervisor, and Executive Director that may involve coordinating external responses and/or functions and gathering data from staff, and performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of applicable statutes and rules; Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, analyzing data & problem-solving techniques; Ability to supervise and perform supervisory skills Ability to plan & develop policies and procedures Ability to utilize problem solving techniques Ability to determine work priorities Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies & procedures; Ability to provide technical assistance regarding operational & licensure issues; Skills in written and verbal communication; Skills in utilizing microcomputers and software programs.
Qualifications: Preference will be given to those with a bachelor’s degree or higher AND relevant work experience, specifically supervising people and processes and/or health care administration involving health care practitioner licensure programs and/or relevant Florida statutes and rules.
