Office hours are 8:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. Eastern Standard TIme, Monday through Friday. Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida

Statutes. The criminal history check must be completed within the first three (3) days of employment. This position works in the General Serves Section assisting FWC's safety coordinator with FWC's safety program.

Duties and Responsibilities include: Serves as FWC's Safety Manager Develops, implements, and maintains a program of employee safety education. Performs safety duties for the purpose of preventing employee injury, reducing workers' compensation claims, and preventing damage and/or loss to equipment and property. Develops, implements, and maintains safe operating policies for use of equipment that are consistent with manufacturers' recommendations and specifications Develops,

implements, and maintains safe operating policies for FWC equipment that are consistent with governmental safety regulations and manufacturers' recommendations and specifications Coordinates with FWC's Safety Advisory Board on recommendations for adopting changes in safety rules and regulations and prepares safety manuals, rules, Commission Internal Management Policies and Procedures.

Performs other duties as required. Knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis; Knowledge of basic management principles and practices; Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices; Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials; Ability to conduct fact-finding research; Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques; Ability to work independently; Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities; Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; Ability to communicate effectively; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have one or more years' experience in developing and conducting training presentations. Must have 3 or more years' experience in utilization of Microsoft Office products. Must be willing to travel periodically to attend training sessions, meetings and special assignments. Prefer candidate with experience querying data, performing ad hoc reporting, and analyzing statistical data. Prefer candidate with experience in safety and/or emergency management procedures.
