The Work You Will Do: OPS Government Operations Consultant II (Interpretive Specialist – Project Management) (37934026) The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is seeking a well-organized individual with the ability to effectively work well with others as a project manager for interpretive training and projects to serve the needs of the Division
of Recreation and Parks (Florida State Parks). Florida State Parks span the entire state with 175 state parks and trails. This position is part of the team charged with connecting visitors to the park resources.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour (commensurate with experience) Your Specific Responsibilities: Provides 40 hours per week support to the Interpretive Services section of the Bureau of Operational Services, specifically through the coordination and management of interpretive resources and programs.
Plan, implement and monitor project workflows to ensure the effective coordination of theme-driven, inclusive and delightful nonpersonal interpretive projects including signs, exhibits, and publications that enhance the park visitor experience. This includes setting expectations, providing clear guidelines and monitoring project timelines. Design, develop, review and maintain an inventory of resources for successful nonpersonal interpretive program outlines. Develop, manage and train on interpretive tools and resources for field staff.
Work with parks, districts, bureaus, departments, state agencies, external partners and stakeholders to take interpretive projects from concept to final product. This includes research, scoping, interpretive media development and production, distribution and evaluation. Coordinate content, data analysis and accessible solutions that provide opportunities for diverse visitors to learn about, engage with and enjoy Florida State Parks. Evaluate projects and division needs to improve engagement and meet objectives. Develop materials and execute presentations to guide interpretive processes and support staff and partner development.
Perform routine statewide travel for division meetings, trainings, on site planning and partner engagement. Support workload of program area and other bureaus and perform other duties as assigned. Success in this position requires a dynamic individual capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, easily adapting to change, and possessing a true spirit of service.
