The Senior Estimator is a member of Global Engineering and Real Estate's Capital Projects (Project Services) function. The role is accountable for all capital cost estimating and bench-marking efforts within Global Engineering and Real Estate, ensuring fit for
purpose procedures and quality outputs. The role is a leadership role within the Project Services function and reports to the Director of Project Services. Typical Accountabilities: Lead cost estimating and benchmarking (cost and schedule) practices within Global Engineering and Real Estate.
Develop and maintain the technical direction and functional standards (business process) for estimate production, review, verification and assurance Accountable for quality of all estimating stage-gate results globally e. g. for internal governance / funding decisions Lead and line develop team of cost estimating professionals, assigning resources to meet front-end and project demand as the need arises
by the Global Engineering and Real Estate project portfolio.
Team members are likely to be spread across more than one country / region Own the recruitment, training and development of internal estimating resources. Support other business functions and/or sites with recruitment as needed Collaborate with other business functions / sites to identify and drive opportunities for enterprise-wide alignment in estimating and benchmarking. Establish and/or support global process network(s) as appropriate Lead at a high-level but also support hands-on project needs as required, working with internal and external partners Subject matter authority for implementation of quantitative cost risk analysis, ensuring fit-for-purpose solutions on large and small projects.
Facilitate risk identification and cost ranging sessions where appropriate vs. use of external resources Build and maintain systems that support data collection for use on future estimates, including opportunities to align business functions / sites outside of Global Engineering and Real Estate with the same data structures, systems etc. Train and educate others in good practices related to estimating and benchmarking Ensure all project cost scope development and estimating activities stay in sync with corporate capital governance requirements and internal guidelines Lead and take ownership for special projects and initiatives to support the organisation as a whole, as assigned Participate in pharma industry cost/benchmarking forums.
Build and lead efforts for benchmarking when critical to meet AZ priorities Essential Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent10 years of applicable experi Conceptual & detailed cost estimating experience Hands-on experience with cost risk analysis Global project experience Developed professional network in estimating and project control subject areainteractionperience with database software Experience in various software systems including suite of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Power Point, Word) and reference documentation Can support business travel if required Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
