GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Provides ongoing maintenance and support of the school system's Student Information system and other student centric Information Systems. Recommends and develops specifications for the necessary configuration changes and reports based on the needs of various departments around the Student centric systems.

Prepares and executes tests to ensure that modifications to the system are adequately tested prior to implementation. Provides necessary support to develop training material and train end users within the school system on the existing and new functionality the systems provide. SUPERVISION Work is performed under

general supervision of the Director of Enterprise Solutions in the department of Information Services. Work is reviewed in terms of efficiency and effectiveness of operations, quality and timeliness of reports, and compatibility with departmental goals and objectives.

GUIDELINES APS Policies and Policy Implementation Procedures; Virginia Code; applicable state, federal law and regulations; supervisor's, Superintendent's and School Board's instructions. CONTACTS Contacts may include the School Board, central office staff, and school-based staff including but not limited to Principals, Assistant Principals, registrars, Directors of Counseling, Teachers, Parents. Additionally, occasional

contact is made with other counties systems staff to compare best practices and collaborate as necessary and available.

RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE CLASS (May not include all duties performed. ) Develop relationships with Department of Instruction, Administrator of Schools and staff, Central office Staff and School Board members and staff to evaluate their needs and develop and implement plans to meet those needs. Provide coordinated delivery of functionality with in the Student Information System and other student centric systems and their support with the Enterprise Solutions team. Configure and modify the Student Centric application(s) to meet business requirements.

Develop functional specifications and create report specifications needed by Instruction and Student Services departments, and school-based and central office staff. Provide hands-on " just-in-time" support and assistance to users. Facilitate regular effective communication between Instruction Services, Student Services, Central staff, School Board and the Information Services department, including reminders, updates, and opportunities for feedback. Prepare and execute test plans to ensure that patches, modifications, and updates to the system are thoroughly tested before being placed into production.

Act as the liaison between all the user groups of Student Data (Data Entry or Data usage) and influence the design and development of solutions in and around the Student Centric Systems. Help with the prioritization of Projects and tasks related to Student centric Systems. Design and roll out of any system solutions around SIS (Both Current and future) and also suggest efficiencies in various existing business processes around the district. Coordinate with various offices of the school district that are reporting to Federal and State government and make sure that the data being reported is correctly interpreted and consistent with our SIS and APS practices and procedures.

Review patches, modifications, and updates to the system to determine impact on current functionality. Recommend system changes for improved workflow, compliance, and/or increased functionality. Create and maintain documentation (e. g. setup documentation, training documentation, user procedures). Support the Training Support Group with the needed guidance on the changes and updates in the Student Information System and helping with identifying and delivering training to end users of Student Information Systems in the district.

Performs related duties as required or assigned. EXPERIENCE: DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES In depth technical and functional knowledge of Instructional functions and other student related services, with a minimum of 3 years experience with Information Systems, specifically with: Registration Special Education Grade Book Attendance Report Cards Grade Reporting & Transcript Policies and calculations Student related data reporting to Federal and State authorities. Experience with change management and a Student Information System(s) implementation in K-12 environment.

Knowledge of SQL or adaptable to write Meta Reports to lend clear specifications to the vendor or internal technical resources to develop details and needed reports to users. Extensive problem-solving experience working with all aspects of the technical system including troubleshooting and determining best alternatives for implementing new procedures. Proven track record gathering business requirements, providing change control management, and managing a blended workforce organization including contractors and consultants. Experience working and communicating with various levels both within and outside an organization including senior management, steering committees, technical IT staff, first-level end-users, and citizens.

Experience developing strong customer relations and managing customer expectations. Demonstrated understanding of business concepts with the ability to present and sell complex technical solutions to senior management and to the community at large. Ability to manage work in accordance with the work schedules of colleagues and user agencies. Exceptional presentation, written and oral communication skills (demonstrated proof of work to be provided upon request).

QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Possession of a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Instructional Technologies / Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES Work requires those physical attributes related to walking, standing, sitting, operating office and communications equipment, extensive computer use, lifting, moving, and carrying light equipment and supplies. HAZARDS/UNUSUAL DEMANDS Most assignments are subject to deadlines and require tailoring and delivering programs to meet the needs of many divergent groups.

Some assignments may involve night and weekend activities. APPLY TO: SALARY: Salary range of $100,830 to $165,264 annually based upon 23/24 pay plan.
