Position Summary The primary job responsibility is to perform CNC programming duties. Position will cover CNC programming of multiple machine configurations including: Lathes, Mills (both vertical and horizontal). Duties to include implementing process improvements and best practices
with particular reference to CNC equipment, tooling and fixturing.
Duties & Responsibilities ESSENTIAL --- Create CNC programs for multiple machine configurations within Machine Shop programs based on information supplied via follower, drawing, and verbal instructions. --- Assist Machine Shop Foreman in the maintenance of process followers. --- Support machine shop with " hands on" application during prove out of CNC programs when required. --- In conjunction with the Machine Shop Foreman and the machinists, assist with tooling, jig and fixture design. --- Requisition tooling as needed for jobs prior to programming job. --- Initiate design changes as required.
--- Direct equipment modifications and improvements. --- Assist in equipment problem resolution. --- Demonstrate leadership in safety initiatives. --- Other duties as assigned. Qualifications REQUIRED Minimum five (5) years manufacturing experience with machined components required. Minimum five (5) years of experience with CAM system programming. Master CAM is desired. Experience with MS Office. DESIRED Knowledge of Solid Works, Auto CAD, People Soft. Conversant with CAM and " G" code programming KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS Ability to encourage and facilitate cooperation, teamwork and pride.
Additional Information WORKING CONDITIONS This position is considered SHOP/INDOOR WORK which is characterized as follows. --- Indoors during the day and occasionally at night. --- Frequently working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment. --- Noise is over 85 decibels. --- Frequent exposure to airborne dust. The Project Engineer independently directs and technically manages engineering and design activities under the guidance of a software lead

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter who is an effective communicator. This position requires a solid depth of understanding of the software lifecycle and how it best applies to the creation and approval of Department of Defense underwater systems.
