The successful candidate will lead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of a set of cyber test tools used to design and execute cyber testing and training events. The Software Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle in regards to running Cyber Test and Training Events - ensuring that our software solutions meet government cyber testing needs. The Software Engineer should have a background
in automation, system administration, software development including scripting, and basic understanding of other various computing and cyber topics. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree with a focus in computer science, or a focus in computer and information sciences, information technology, management information systems, or a related discipline with corresponding experience and demonstrated mastery of relevant computer science and software engineering topics.
Prior usage or knowledge of infrastructure configuration automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, etc. 2+ years of systems administration experience (can overlap with other experience).
3+ years of experience with software development and software engineering (can overlap with other experience). Desired Skills: Expert knowledge of: software development to include agile software development practices; programming languages; operating systems; networks; enterprise and consumer IT concepts, architectures, and systems (computer, network, storage). Expert knowledge of Power Shell, bash scripting, python scripting, and C/C++ development. Experience developing or modifying web applications using web development frameworks such as Django, Ruby on Rails, Flask, Angular, Bottle, j Query, Meteor.
Prior usage or knowledge of one or more continuous integration tools such as Jenkins. Prior usage or knowledge of one or more of the following My SQL, Maria DB, mongo DB, Postgres SQL, or no SQL. Knowledge of Networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, TFTP, DNS, FTP. 2+ years of experience with cyber testing or training to include experience with defensive and offensive cyber tools and TTPs or relevant experience (can overlap with other experience).
