Work with vendors and service suppliers to maintain maximum resource up time. Diagnose failures and initiate appropriate service procedures. Negotiate and administer service contracts as appropriate. software as required due to hardware failures. Define, research and develop software to aid periodic system administration duties, enhance computer user productivity, and provide new functionality.
Software may be developed using languages such as " C" and Perl, and database languages such as SQL. Periodically review system capacity, reliability, and performance. Identify and propose hardware and software to meet strategic and operational requirements of the product development teams. Provide input to the CAEPS strategic direction. Investigate new technologies for applicability to The Toro Company (TTC) Engineering departments. Upon approval, test and implement technologies.
Provide the means for new users to become trained in the application of the new technology.
Examples include: Creo Parametric and Windchill PDMLink Participate with others in the CAEPS support team to train internal users. Develop and present internal workshops. Evaluate potential outside training resources. Recommend appropriate alternatives. Is a liaison representing Engineering Technical Services (ETS) and TTC Engineering departments with the TTC IT department. Participate in computer user groups of companies using similar hardware and software. Work with the customers of engineering data to improve the productivity of the transfer of information i. e. publications, plants, purchasing, service, advance planning.
Work with product development teams to provide engineering skills e. g. analysis, prior experiences, and basic engineering problem solving techniques. As appropriate, make visits to field to understand the needs of the customer. Exercise fiscal responsibility during the year in the purchase of equipment and supplies and make appropriate recommendations to department leadership for future spending. Position Description: As a Technical Service Rep, you will report to the Tech Services Manager and provide efficient and timely technical assistance in matter relating to their packaging equipment operations and to facilitate customer quality and packaging performance improvement. You will be responsible for scheduling your work and providing
on-site technical support as required to clients and assigned customers throughout your territory (typically 2 to 4 states in size).
Critical to this role is your ability to write field service reports on the " who, what, when, where, and why" of your work and technical service/consulting for the customer. Additionally, you will interact on calls and emails with customers, internal sales, and other technical resources in discussing technical things as it relates to customer packaging needs, operations, and improvements. When you're in the field you will not fix or repair the equipment in a hands-on maintenance role (the client maintenance team does that), but instead provide diagnostics, troubleshooting, and consultative support of company packaging, equipment, and its operations to the client (typically you'll work with client operators and maintenance professionals) at client sites for smooth, optimal, and efficient results.

by Linde's United States Bulk and On-Site unit. The program has a class of engineers that go through 52 weeks of training in a structured curriculum that is designed to give a very broad exposure to all aspects of plant operations with limited exposure to the broader Linde organization.
The curriculum contains training common to operations with an opportunity for technical cross training.
