The team is responsible for the Nutanix Distributed Storage Fabric (NDSF) - a high-performance shared-nothing distributed file system. The Stargate team is the " data-engine" of the distributed file system, responsible for handling all the IO requests, placing data, dedupe,
compression and encryption, healing from failures, etc. The work for the Stargate team is challenging because designing an enterprise-grade distributed file system means that we have strict requirements of consistency and performance, and we always have to reinvent ourselves as newer and faster drive technologies emerge.
