a broad range of technology areas to address key stakeholder needs and further the Group’s core C-WMD mission areas. Examples of problems include: backssing sensors and sensing architectures to enable rapid detection of biological and chemical attacks; defining performance requirements for new sensing systems to detect biological and chemical threats; and evaluating technologies and architecture concepts to aid in advanced situational awareness.

This often includes the development of software and related products in coordination with stakeholder communities to incorporate operational constraints, requirements, and concepts of operation. The staff member may also support the design, prototyping

and field testing of prototype homeland protection systems.

Activities within the group are highly collaborative and multidisciplinary. The C-WMD Systems Group draws from a very diverse talent pool across the fields of engineering (e. g. electrical, mechanical, chemical, biomedical, general), physics, mathematics, applied mathematics, computer science, chemistry, and biology. Staff members work in a team environment to study a broad range of key technical questions to countering the proliferation and use of WMDs. Software development activities in the Group include assisting with software and hardware integration into prototype sensor systems, implementing real-time data analytics, database integration, building web-based applications, and creating serious games to collect data for analysis.

Job Requirements The position requires the following: Ph. D. (or M. S. / B. S. with several years of experience) in Computer Science, Game Design Development, Software Engineering, or related scientific field, or equivalent experience in software development. Demonstrated skills in software development best practices (e. g. version control, QA, CI/CD, testing, UI development) and in a several languages and platforms among the following: C#, C++, Unity, Java, Java Script, Python, Matlab and SQL, is highly desired, along with the willingness to learn additional languages and platforms as needed.
