SERVER ADMINISTRATION Open-Competitive Opportunity POSITION SUMMARY: This is a full-time junior level technical position that reports to the Division of Information Technology Services, Bureau of Production Systems Services.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is seeking a candidate to join our Windows System Administration team as a Server Systems Administrator.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the agency’s on-prem Active Directory and VMware environments. Candidates must have a thorough working knowledge of the Windows Operating Server System including roles, duties, and daily performance operations. The position also requires excellent
facilitation and customer service skills. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures projects will adhere to the standards, policies, and procedures as established by ITS for software development; Ensures projects will be thoroughly tested to ensure adherence to the required functionality; Ensures projects will be approved by the customer prior to final implementation; Ensures implementations integrate with existing hardware systems and networks; Coordinates with other sections of ITS, and representatives of the other FDLE Divisions to ensure compatibility; Serves as consultant to other FDLE members in the planning and upgrade of the PC systems development environment; Develops changes to existing standards,
policies, and procedures related to software development, and presents these modifications to ITS management for consideration; and Develops new standards, policies, and procedures related to software development, and presents these modifications to ITS management for consideration.
To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U. S. Department of Education. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or A high school diploma or its equivalent and four years of experience in computer systems analysis, systems administration or computer programming; or Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of four years.
Completion of a 720-classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or community college in the area of data processing can substitute for one year of the required education or experience. Note: 30 semester hours, or equivalent, of course work from an accredited college or university is equivalent to one year of experience.
