Primary Responsibilities : The ability to design, plan, produce illustrations of different subjects using a variety of artistic styles and techniques including computer graphics and the ability to draw freehand or with drawing instruments.
Produces illustration electronic files using one or more of the following tools: PTC Iso Draw, PTC Creo Illustrate, Adobe Illustrator, Visio, 3DS Max and other graphic illustration applications utilized for the development of technical manuals, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), and training manuals. Must have experience working with Solid Works. Provides
inputs to peer reviews. Works cross-functionally to clarify technical content. Basic Requirements: Education: A Bachelor's degree in Illustration, Graphic Design, Mechanical Design or equivalent is preferred, but consideration will be giving to qualified candidates with an Associates degree in the above areas.
Requires 3+ years of experience as a technical illustrator including: Providing advice on format, lettering sizes and styles and their effective use, including appropriate treatment to achieve desired audience reaction. U. S. citizenship is required, as only U. S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. Must have, or the ability to obtain, a secret
clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with developing CAD, 3D animations, and/or 3D models and Auto CAD is beneficial.
Able to create and revise documents in accordance with Do D, and S1000D using various Engineering data. A solid understanding of technical illustrating standards and how documents are used in Do D, specifically NAVSEA. Ability to coordinate Ability to coordinate projects with the Publications team. Participation in program meetings as needed to maintain the right level of project knowledge. Participation in customer meetings as required per project.
