For assigned projects, the Project Architect will work under the direction of the Architect of Record and at times act as the Architect of Record. This position works within our Aptura business. What You'll Do and Impact: Lead architectural design efforts for assigned clients and projects, including conceptualization, development, documentation of design concepts and solutions, and oversight during the bidding, permitting, and construction phases.
Conduct site visits, backss existing conditions, prepare and present design proposals- including sketches, renderings, and 3D visualizations- to clients and project teams. Develop comprehensive architectural plans, drawings, specifications, and construction documents, ensuring that designs comply with building and health codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant standards. Request proposals from internal and external consultants, make hiring recommendations, coordinate work of internal and external consultants, and review consultant invoices for approval.
Collaborate with contractors and construction teams during the design, bidding, and construction phases to develop and update designs and estimates, issue change orders and field observation reports, process RFIs and submittals, and ensure overall project quality. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in architecture, and apply them to enhance project outcomes. Contribute to a strong and positive work environment while developing meaningful and effective working relationships. Mentor and guide junior architects and designers, providing feedback and fostering their professional growth.
Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. Licensed architect in one or more jurisdictions with a solid understanding of building and heath codes, life safety regulations, FGI guidelines, and construction practices. Proven experience (8-10 years) working as a Project Architect, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful project delivery. Ability to travel by car and/or plane up to 25% Valid, unexpired driver's license with satisfactory driving record A portfolio of work samples is required to be considered for this position.
Additional Items of Interest: Proven experience in designing and delivering senior living projects NCARB certification WELL accreditation LEED accreditation EDAC accreditation Proficient in design-related software such as Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro (BIM 360), Fuzor, AIA Contract Documents, Master Spec, Bluebeam, Newforma and/or Holobuilder. Proficient in office productivity software including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps. Professional membership in relevant architectural organizations is a plus.
