As a Mechanical Senior Staff Engineer, you will be a member of our New Product Introduction (NPI) development team. In this role, you will influence the conceptual development, mathematical analysis,

detailed design, and overall performance of sophisticated products and systems, including the building of and validation of advanced design concepts. You will have highly focused activities on product performance and agency related elements of the programs.

As a recognized technical specialist this role will influence the organization and industry in Trade organization and agency work and provide support to the production, laboratory, service, applications, and marketing teams. Uses standard and sophisticated technical and mathematical principles, theories, concepts, techniques, processes, and standard methodologies in the field. Continuously researches equipment operation, materials,

industrial processes, and manufacturing equipment. Proficient in mechanical design and able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product.

Utilizes mechanical engineering theory and methodologies such as heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and failure analysis. Establishes prototype & test criteria, participates in laboratory testing, and analyzes test data to identify effective product designs that exceed performance, quality, and cost requirements. Responsible for the on-time completion of projects. Continuously increases expertise in all aspects of product design, theory, construction, operation, and applications. Learns and applies regulatory codes such as UL, CSA, ARHI, ASME, CE, and PED.

Mentors and leads newer engineers in engineering sciences applied, and project management and execution. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited), Master’s degree preferred. I’ve been working in the Residential/light commercial HVAC product engineering industry for 30+ years. My experience includes work in water source heat pumps, residential AC/ heat pumps, coils, and air handlers. My interests revolve around developing high quality, cost competitive, strong performing residential HVAC systems. Expect to be challenged in this role to learn new tools and systems, tackle complicated projects, make engineering judgements in the face of uncertainty, and conduct exploratory analysis to evaluate system performance.
