Position Overview The Cloud Solution Architect is a pivotal role responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of cloud-based
solutions to cater to both client needs and our organizational objectives. This position requires a proactive individual who can craft tailored cloud infrastructures that are not only in alignment with specific requirements but are also robust, scalable, and secure.
Part of this security focus means ensuring that all deployed cloud solutions are fortified against potential cyber threats and are compliant with global cybersecurity standards. Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams such as engineering, security, and operations, spearheading the seamless migration from on-premises to cloud platforms, and optimizing existing systems for peak performance, security,
and cost-effectiveness. The Architect will harness leading cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, and GCP, to bring about necessary improvements in the existing systems.
A strong emphasis will be placed on continuous monitoring to ensure optimal system performance. Additionally, this role has an essential mentoring component; it involves providing junior team members with technical expertise, mentorship, and training to foster a profound understanding of cloud-based infrastructure. The Cloud Solution Architect will also be entrusted with the task of creating and maintaining detailed documentation related to cloud systems, from architecture to standard operating procedures.
This position entails not just technical proficiency but also a commitment to engaging with stakeholders, offering support and guidance in line with the best practices and prevailing industry standards. Responsibilities / Duties Design customized cloud-based infrastructure solutions to meet client needs and organizational goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, security, and operations, to develop robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments. Analyze existing systems to identify areas for performance enhancement, security compliance, and cost reduction.
Implement improvements utilizing platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, and other leading cloud technologies. Continuously monitor system performance, adjusting configurations and settings to maintain optimal efficiency. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to cloud architecture, design decisions, and implementation plans, ensuring clear communication and understanding across all levels of the organization. Monitor and support server backups and system hardening practices including anti-virus protection, IAVA Policy Compliance and patch management. Engage with various stakeholders, such as clients, managers, and team members, to provide guidance, support, and alignment with best practices and industry standards.
Work closely with the security team to ensure all cloud infrastructures comply with regulatory requirements and organizational security policies. Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend Maintenance if necessary Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation Collaborate with diverse teams within the organization, ensuring alignment of goals and smooth execution of projects.
Minimum Requirements Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure design and architecture. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Industry recognized Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent are strongly preferred. ) Extensive knowledge of cloud computing technologies, virtualization, networking, security protocols, and infrastructure as code (Ia C) Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Experience in securing cloud-based applications and databases. Proven ability to architect complex cloud solutions, including infrastructure as code, containerization, virtualization, and networking. In-depth understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements related to cloud computing. Strong communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with strong collaboration and communication skills. ) Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing technology landscapes and willingness to embrace continuous learning.
