on streamlining and standardizing our business processes in work and asset management, supply chain, finance and IT. We are re-implementing our SAP ECC system and moving our entire SAP platform top to bottom to new infrastructure on to SAP S4/HANA. Position Summary The SAP Platform Architect, Chief will manage the technical design of SAP infrastructure, including its dependencies and integration of solutions into PG&E’s broader application ecosystem and external party systems, targeting to deliver cost-effective solutions while maximizing service delivery and coworker satisfaction within PG&E.

Chief is a Director level equivalent at PG&E and reserved for highly skilled technical leaders

with deep domain experience in areas of strategic need. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.

The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the

successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is: Bay Area Minimum: $155,000 Bay Area Maximum: $265,000 Reporting Relationship Reports to: Senior Director, SAP – IT Direct reports: None Job Responsibilities Collaborate with stakeholders to define and develop the infrastructure architecture strategy and technology roadmap for SAP systems, specifically SAP S/4 HANA, considering factors such as performance, scalability, availability, and security. Design and implement high-performance, highly available, and scalable infrastructure solutions for SAP systems, with focus on infrastructure components, including servers, storage, network, virtualization, and cloud platforms.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to the SAP Basis team, infrastructure teams, and other cross-functional teams involved in the SAP landscape. Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines for SAP systems. Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain robust security controls and compliance requirements for SAP infrastructure for SAP platforms. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to SAP infrastructure and SAP S/4 HANA and recommend suitable enhancements or improvements.

Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to evaluate, select, and implement infrastructure solutions and services for SAP platforms. Develop integration strategies and oversee the implementation of middleware and integration solutions. Knowledge of other Integration tools like Mule Soft This position will be based at PG&E headquarters in Oakland, California. Background Qualifications Minimum BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent experience 12 years in IT 10 years of solution architecture and project implementation experience Expert in solution architecture discipline, processes, concepts and best practices Use of process improvement discipline (e. g. Six Sigma) used within a technology supported business process implementation Process design, information modeling and / or system solution architecture development with portfolio or enterprise focus in more than one of the following: Application Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Information Architecture, Data Management, Security, or Infrastructure technologies Operational support for applications, systems, or infrastructure Experience with enterprise architecture tools Experience providing direction to a team of technology architects Desired Extensive experience (8+ years) in designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure solutions for SAP systems, with a strong emphasis on SAP S/4 HANA.

Strong expertise in SAP architecture, landscape design, and deployment options (on-premises, cloud, hybrid), specifically related to SAP S/4 HANA.

Proficiency in SAP Basis administration, including system installation, upgrades, patching, and system copy, with a focus on SAP S/4 HANA. In-depth knowledge of server infrastructure, storage systems, network design, virtualization, and cloud platforms (e. g. AWS, Azure). Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices, particularly in relation to SAP infrastructure and SAP S/4 HANA. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to SAP S/4 HANA.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Utilities industry, highly regulated industry or industry where SAP system is the mission critical system for revenue generation and/or operations. SAP operations experience running 24x7 Basis teams. Expertise in ABAP, ABAP on Hana, SAP BTP, SAP HANA, OData, SAP Gateway. Knowledge of SAP Modules FI, CO, MM, HR, EAM. SAP certifications, such as SAP Certified Technology Associate (SAP HANA) and SAP Certified Application Associate (SAP S/4 HANA). Project management experience that involves conceptualizing, organizing, planning, and executing large-scale, high dollar and high-risk projects from vision through implementation, with diverse stakeholders such as business unit/division, contractors, and vendors, etc.
