Job Purpose Work involves operating equipment and performing manual labor supporting the Landscape crew in the maintenance of operations at a specific facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists maintenance operations on facility's acres and visitor gardens Prepare, soil amending, and cultivation of landscape bed(s) Install soil and compost Edge beds, apply mulch, and provide plant irrigation Manual weeding and application

of granular pre-emergent herbicide, deadhead flowers Perform plant fertilization, mowing, de-littering, and line trimming Use various associated power tools Complete turf restoration Clean up beds in spring and fall Perform other duties as required Education and Experience Required Additional Information: Must be 18 years of age or older by the first day of employment.

Bring lunch and water daily for working in the field. Safety boots and safety glasses required. Reimbursement available for safety boots and prescription safety eye wear. Hours: April - September, Monday - Friday 6:45am-2:45pm Starting Pay: Starts at $17.00 an hour Preferred Experience: Understanding of landscape management

activities, conceptual garden design, and water conservation.

Special training or other license, certification, etc. One (1) year of grounds maintenance experience and understanding of soil science, perennial and woody plant management and identification. Must have a valid Driver's License. Skills In: Identification of trees, shrubs, native grasses, flowers, and weeds for horticulture aspects of grounds management; safe, proper operation and maintenance of a variety of grounds equipment; performing manual labor tasks; understanding and following verbal or written instructions; maintaining effective working relationships.
