The Communication Technologies and Engineering Division's (CTED) main mission is to support space missions, along with their enabling technologies, through to the disciplines of communications, networking, and PNT (Position, Navigation, and Timing). CTED projects comprise

all aspects, from architectures to prototypes to implementation, theoretical to hands-on. Our engineers work directly with corporate and U. S. Government customers to ensure robust and resilient communications.

In this role as a Communications and Signal Processing Engineer, you will become an integral part of the Communications and Signal Analysis Department (CSAD) within CTED. CSAD performs analysis, modeling and simulation of end-to-end radio and optical communication systems, and signal collection/processing techniques and solutions. CSAD also advises our customers on technical matters and advanced technology development needs. The work we do is in support of advanced concept development/prototyping,

system acquisition support and anomaly resolution, primarily for specialized satellite and associated ground processing applications.

Work Model: This position is 100% on-site with little to no telework available. This position can either be filled as an Engineering Specialist or a Senior Engineering Specialist. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting the development and acquisition of advanced communications and signal collection / processing systems Leading and performing technical studies and performing analysis, modeling and simulation of advanced communications, signal collection / processing and/or signal geolocation applications Supporting our Civil, Do D and intelligence community customers with primary support to the National Reconnaissance Office Initiating studies, coordinating tasking, leading teams and interfacing with multiple stakeholders Acting as the organizations designated representative at technical meetings, presentations and symposia What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements for an Engineering Specialist: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline Eight years of experience in communications and signal processing, such as modeling and simulation; some knowledge of hardware, hardware imperfections and modeling required Willing to travel domestically up to approximately 10% of the time Ability to obtain and maintain a U.

S. security clearance, which is issued by the U. S. government. U. S. citizenship is required. Minimum Requirements for a Senior Engineering Specialist: In addition to the requirements above, a total of 12 years of experience in communications and signal processing How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: Master’s or Ph.
