It involves developing instructional strategies and materials that help product installers understand and use innovative products and innovative installation processes seamlessly. This ensures a user: friendly experience and enhances the adoption and commercialization success of products in the market. This role will be based in Fontana CA reporting to the R and D Application Engineering Manager. Projects will occur across North America and therefore require up to 30 travel. Project Management: Manage instructional design projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, operations, and subject matter experts. Coordinate a workstream within a new product development project.
Regularly update stakeholders on project status and solicit feedback for continuous improvement. The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Solid experience with course authoring software, multimedia editing software, and learning management systems. Visual design skills (Illustrator) and ability to storyboard. Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, scripts.
Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts and diverse teams (architects, engineers, contractors, product installers). Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Education / Experience Required: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Design or Technology, or a related field. Proven experience (3-5 years) as an Instructional Designer within fast paced industry or consulting.
Experience with building materials or general construction is a plus. Experience with Six Sigma or Toyota Production System (TPS) is a plus.
