An exciting opportunity exists for a Staff Assistant to join the team of employees within the Wildlife and Habitat Management Section at Hilochee Wildlife Management Area.

This position provides secretarial and staff support for the lead area biologist and staff at the Hilochee WMA. Activities in support of these positions include: 1) processing invoices, requisitions, purchasing card charges, and other administrative paperwork; 2) assisting

with procurement of commodities and services; 3) assisting in developing and tracking operational budgets and plans; 4) preparing and organizing all correspondence and project-related files; 5) providing routine clerical support, including managing correspondence, maintaining stocks of office supplies, and photocopying; 6) maintaining calendars and making meeting or travel arrangements; 7) researching and assembling data for reports; 8) receiving and routing telephone calls; 9) responding to public requests for publications, rules, status of projects, and other information; 10) providing assistance to other sections/offices/divisions; and 11) completing other duties as assigned or needed.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Experience with computers, including Internet Explorer, and the Microsoft Office software package, especially Word and Excel; professional office/secretarial/accounting experience with filing, bookkeeping, and customer service.
