Posting Identification Number 33336 Position Overview The Warehouse Examiner position serves as a frontline regulator in the Bureau of Warehouse and performs examinations of Illinois licensed Grain Companies to ensure compliance with the Illinois Grain Code and maintain financial solvency, so Illinois farmers receive payment for grain sold or stored with Illinois licensed Grain Companies.

The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of grain warehouses, basic accounting principles, aptitude to use a laptop computer, and the ability to work with many different personalities within the Illinois Grain Industry. This position offers excellent beginning salary

Job Responsibilities1. Conducts professional field examinations of grain warehouses and grain dealers. 2. Prepares examinations reports and inspection sheets. 3. Examines grain warehouses for storage capacity and condition of grain. 4. Receives additional on: the: job training. 5. Provides support as it relates to insolvent licensees. 6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with coursework in fields related to accounting, auditing, business, and agriculture.

Preferred Qualifications : Prefers elementary knowledge of agricultural economics.Prefers elementary knowledge of grain warehouse financial records and reports.Prefers elementary knowledge of the methods and procedures used in the conduct of warehouse examinations.Prefers elementary knowledge of the rules, regulations, codes, and laws relative to warehouses.Prefers experience conducting warehouse examinations.Prefers experience communicating in oral and written form.Prefers experience testifying at administrative or judicial proceedings.Prefers experience gathering data and information to be utilized at administrative and judicial proceedings.Prefers experience using notebook computer and relevant software.Prefers experience safely operating electric, hydraulic and/or rope man lifts.Prefers experience properly utilizing required personal protective equipment and observing established safety standards.
