Friends Animal Society in northern Delaware. This position is available to veterinarians with leadership experience but also to those seeking an opportunity to learn and develop leadership, interpersonal and managerial skills as we work together to lead and develop the public-facing sides of our non-profit veterinary clinic.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide compassionate, quality preventative and basic wellness/sick care to patients using low stress handling techniques Perform high volume spay and neuter surgeries as well as some specialty surgeries Oversee all aspects of veterinary care during a clinic day including physical examination, diagnostics, treatment

recommendations and prescribing of medications Communicate with clients in a clear and caring way, discuss physical examination and test results to allow pet owners to make informed decisions about their pet's care Collaborate to develop and refine protocols to meet organizational goals and quality standards Take an active role in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating veterinary staff, including veterinary student interns Train and supervise for, when necessary, compassionate euthanasia training and certification Oversee veterinary personnel needs, such as doctor staffing and scheduling, using effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the support of the Director of Medical

Operations and Lead Surgical Technician Address client concerns in conjunction with the appropriate management personnel Ensure that medical records are accurate, communicated as needed, and periodically audited Maintain DEA drug logs and inventory as required Attend relevant conferences to maintain CE credits required to maintain an active veterinary license in the State of Delaware Join the organizational Leadership Team and participate in strategic planning for the organization at large Be a steward for the operational and financial goals of the organization COMPENSATION Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($135,000 to $165,000), $5,000 Sign-on or Relocation bonus and an additional $5,000 bonus after one year of service.

We operate a No Kill animal shelter and a stand-alone community veterinary clinic in Delaware. We provide life-affirming rescue, preventative medicine, basic sick care, spay/neuter and other procedures to community animals of those with financial limitations through our community clinic.

We are in search of a full-time exempt CLINIC VETERINARIAN to provide leadership and full oversight of the public-facing Wellness Clinic and Surgery Center. These services are a critical part of our mission to provide lower cost care to help keep families and cat colony caretakers with those who love them and keep those animals healthy. This program also reduces the number of animals surrendered to shelters due to the inability to provide medical care for a pet.
