Role Title: Veterinary Technician: ER/ICU / Triage Hybrid (Evening Shift) Department: Emergency Critical Care Shift: Evening Shift - 3pm-11pm. Four days per week. 32 hrs/week = Full Time Benefits Eligible Schedule: Weekends Required, no more than 50% per month. Holidays required, no more than four per year. Schedules are locked in 8 weeks into the future, so we cannot make changes without your approval within that time frame. This schedule is a three week rotation, working at both our Oakdale
(OD) and St. Paul (SP) hospitals and has a five day weekend once every three weeks.
This position will be scheduled (and trained) to work Triage, ER, ICU and Lab roles. All shifts are scheduled 3p-11pm Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Week 1 Oakdale, ICU Oakdale, ICU Oakdale, Triage Oakdale, Triage Week 2 Oakdale, ER St. Paul, Triage Oakdale, ICU Oakdale, Lab Week 3 St. Paul, ICU St. Paul, Triage St. Paul ER Oakdale, Lab Compensation: Hourly, dependent on skills, education, credentials, and other factors. PTO accrual based on tenure. Uniform, Pet, and CE stipends available, and more. Shift Differential: Eligible ($4/hr on top of base hourly wage). Relocation Assistance: Eligible, up to $2,000. Exact assistance is determined based on multiple factors, to be discussed at time of interview(s). The primary function of the Veterinary Technician is to provide exceptional care of both patients and clients by serving as an extension of the veterinarian. Additionally, the Veterinary Technician is expected to promote professional growth through education and learning opportunities.

You possess the knowledge to triage phone calls, review medical plans, perform financial transactions, and discharge patients leaving the hospital in addition to your typical technical skills and abilities. Patient Care Skills can be taught. We value training and professional development. You will be provided with a minimum of 16 training shifts before you're set free to save lives. These training shifts will be both on the floor, and classroom based, working closely with individuals from our professional development training team.
When you succeed, we all succeed. You will be comfortable with the basic tasks such as IVC placement, venipuncture, bloodwork (CBC/Chem/UA) and performance of x-rays and sedated procedures. If you have advanced skills such as central line placement, urinary catheterization, critical nursing, pharmacology, physiology, and advanced imaging, you will bring a wealth of knowledge to our motivated and education-hungry team.
