RESPONSIBILITIES: Organize and deliver training material and presentations in both a controlled meeting room environment and on site in the field. Maintain a comprehensive understanding and library of technical documentation and references. Assist with the organization, set-up, maintenance and disassembly various display models and equipment for tradeshows, line rodeos and exhibitions.
Contribute to the development, editing and organization of technical work methods and procedures. Plan and arrange travel and accommodation with efficiency in mind.
TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma required with a concentration in math and science. Completion of Electrical Lineworker College program and/or Electrical Lineworker apprenticeship program required. Minimum 20 year experience working as a Lineman with a Utility organization Understanding of electrical theory and principles as applied in the utility and power industries normally acquired in a powerline college program or as a powerline journey person or equivalent with an electrical utility. Climbing utility poles
or communication structures with working at heights experience with an understanding of fall arrest systems and applications.
Work experience with various hand tools, pole line hardware, and equipment related to powerline electrical grid or communication tower industry or similar. Exceptional communication skills and capabilities. Ability to work alone with minimal direction while prioritizing and self-managing workload and forecast. The ability to solve problems with limited resources. Ability to collect and catalogue data, perform field research and communicate results in a fast pace growing environment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word.
Photography skills with attention to detail a definite asset. Ability to interpret technical drawings and designs. Understanding of compressive and tension loads, strength of materials, area, volume, density, and their applications in both imperial and metric units. WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, by air, land and sea primarily within USA, but with some international destinations. Willing to travel to and lodge in areas in post storm recovery conditions with minimal services. Maintain health and wellness including shots/vaccinations to safely travel to these locations.
Must have the ability to work alone without compromising safety. Capable of walking on rough terrain and uneven surfaces. Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions (i. e. heat, rain, wind, cold, etc. ) Ability to perform physical work including lifting materials and tools up to 20 kg [44 lbs. ], prolonged sitting and standing in all types of climate and weather conditions.
