forecast harmful algal blooms (HABs). The goal of this work is to improve our forecasts of these blooms through the integration of various environmental data sets, including field observations and model output (from hydrodynamic or meteorological models). Responsibilities include: -Developing processes and scripts for accessing and structuring data sets.
-Developing scripts that will allow ready graphical and statistical analysis of data and models. -Developing scripts for comparison of satellite data with field data. -Assist in development and validation of models of HABs. Qualifications: -M. S. Degree in oceanography, ecology, limnology, physics, mathematics, or related field, with
work experience in data integration. -Programming experience in Python, C++, Java, or other programming language, and statistical software, preferably in R or Python.
-Understanding of databases and remote data access, and of multiple formats and types of data. -Strong communication and collaboration skills. -Ability to pass a national Agency Check (NACI) and drug screening CSS is predominantly a Federal Contractor and is subject to following the terms of Executive Orders.
