Duties The following are the duties of this position at the OR-53. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

- Collaborate with key stakeholders in the OFR's Research & Analysis and Information Technology divisions to initiate, conduct, and support, diverse and complex quantitative analysis. - Support the acquisition of data for research objectives, combining, and preparing data for analytic needs, planning,

and executing the analysis of data, generating diagnostics, compare model results, and participate in the discussion on a range of decisions that produces the most desirable set of outcomes.

- Generate insights from evaluating situational, operational, and behavioral data through the intersection of statistical, computational, and contextual domains. As analysis and research studies become more difficult due to scale and complexity, the incumbent is responsible for investigating more novel or non-traditional approaches to problem solving. - Provide technical knowledge to broad financial data research projects on areas related to statistical methods, programing, data product development,

big data, and feature engineering. -Work both autonomously, and collaboratively, contributing to projects on matrixed teams, within the OFR, Data Center, and Data Products Team.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the OR-53, (GS-13 equivalent): An applicant must have one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, at least the OR-52 (GS-12 equivalent) in the Federal service, directly related to the position to be filled and that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following: - Analyzing data using statistical and mathematical techniques to evaluate program effectiveness; AND- Experience writing code in a statistical or computer programming language such as SAS, R or Python to aid in analysis; AND- Evaluating models, recommendations, and reports to solve problems with nationwide impact. For the OR-52, (GS-12 equivalent): An applicant must have one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, at least the OR-51 (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service, directly related to the position to be filled and that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following: - Reviewing data using statistical and mathematical techniques to evaluate program effectiveness; AND- Experience writing code in a statistical or computer programming language such as SAS, R or Python to aid in analysis; AND- Assisting in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of data (feature engineering), macroprudential financial models, analysis, data products (financial monitors), and visualizations that provide insights on the factors and externalities that affect financial stability.

For the OR-51, (GS-11 equivalent): An applicant must have one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, at least the OR-42 (GS-09 equivalent) in the Federal service, directly related to the position to be filled and that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following: - Reviewing data using statistical and mathematical techniques to assist in evaluating program effectiveness; AND- Experience writing code in a statistical or computer programming language such as SAS, R or Python to aid in analysis; AND- Assisting in the performance of analyses of large-scale data and preparing findings.

OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: - a Ph. D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR- a LL. M. if related; OR- have a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education.

Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours may be used as qualifying when combining education and experience.
