Fabrication of hybrid composites containing novel polymers and sol-gel derived glass ceramics.
Investigation of chemistry-microstructure-processing-property relationships, specifically focusing on the effects of organic and inorganic constituents on microstructure and the resulting toughness and thermal performance of the hybrid composite materials. The candidate is expected to collaborate with AFRL's multidisciplinary researchers and aid in
the development of technologies for U. S. national security interests. We are particularly interested in highly motivated, adaptable, and capable individuals with degrees in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields.
Requirements: This position involves working within a government facility and requires U. S. Citizenship Ph. D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Engineering Science and Mechanics, Chemistry, or related technical fields Processing and characterization of ceramics, polymers, or various organic-inorganic materials.
