Based at Abb Vie's brand-new CA headquarters located in South San Francisco, CA, we have an exciting opportunity in the team as the computational oncology lead with the primary focus of deep exploration of high-dimensional multi-omics real-world datasets, aiming to translate findings into actionable biological insights that can guide our understanding of drug activity and effects in patient tumors and patient stratification for specific therapeutic interventions.
The candidate will be responsible for interrogating and analyzing of large-scale data across various domains (high-throughput genomics, transcriptomics, histomics, proteomics, patient clinical data etc) and applying state-of-the-art algorithms or develop new algorithms.
We value novel, unique omics data as critical to Abb Vie Oncology's target identification, evaluation, and validation success. Therefore, the successful candidate will drive the multi-omics data analysis and integration in the real-world setting. He/she will also leverage of interdisciplinary expertise (cancer genomics, statistics, machine learning, deep learning and human clinical data etc) to enhance real-world data
(RWD) impact and boost Abb Vie's oncology portfolio. The candidate will be a significant contributor to such highly visible effort and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Abb Vie genomics research community, oncology target discovery, precision medicine, epidemiology, and digital pathology.
Key responsibilities include: • A key contributor in real-world data analysis for different data modalities including but not limited to WGS/WES, RNA-seq, ML/DL-based imaging data and multi-omics data integration. • Contribute to establishing and executing computational strategy leveraging proprietary multi-modal, pre-clinical and human derived cancer omics data assets for target and biomarker discovery• Responsible for formulating scientific questions into coherent analytical efforts, developing rigorous statistical and machine learning methods, and communicating scientific findings to internal and external stakeholders• Apply interactive data visualization tool to facilitate analysis result exchange• Contribute to presentations at internal and external scientific conferences, publications in peer-reviewed journals, and regulatory filings.
Scientist II, BS or equivalent education with typically 7 or more years of experience or MS or equivalent education with typically 5 or more years of experience.
Sr. Scientist I, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and typically 10 years of experience, Master's Degree or equivalent education and typically 8 years of experience, Ph D and no experience necessary. Possess thorough theoretical and practical understanding of own scientific discipline. Proficient in at least one general purpose programming/data science languages including but not limited to R, Python, Julia. Experience with common NGS data processing tools, statistical analysis, and machine learning. Experience in cancer genomics.
