of Structural Biology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital seeks a Scientist to lead biochemical efforts related to the characterization and purification of novel nucleo-protein assemblies involved in genome integrity and organization. The scientist will work in collaboration with the cryo-EM center as well as closely with Kellogg lab members to pioneer new research directions.
This scientist will be given opportunities to travel in order to meet with collaborators and present at conferences. In addition, scientists will be given exploratory projects to establish new research directions in the areas of genome maintenance, DNA recombination, and DNA repair. The Kellogg lab uses cutting
edge Cryo-EM to investigate the molecular basis of genome modification and higher order genome structure. The Kellogg lab maintains a portfolio of ambitious projects ( Science, 2023 , Molecular Cell, 2023 , Science, 2023 , Nature, 2023 , PNAS, 2022 , Science, 2021 , and more ) which are supported by a generously funded and well-staffed research environment.

Responsibilities: Collaborate with Dr. Kellogg to pioneer new research directions in Cryo-EM Mentor and train other lab members Maintain extensive knowledge of emerging technologies and develop novel applications. Employ and maintain effective communication with investigators, staff, and other personnel Advise and interact with faculty and other research staff on the management, design, and technical needs of research projects The ideal candidate will be solutions-oriented, and display rigorous thinking and strong intellectual honesty in all aspect of their work.
