Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full time 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) WORK SCHEDULE: Nights, 10-hour shifts DEPARTMENT: Laboratory SIGN ON BONUS! professionals. With over 650 employees in hundreds of different roles, Grand Itasca can offer a variety of career opportunities. JOB SUMMARY: Performs medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

JOB DUTIES: Understand and use scientific and technical language and symbols. Recognize slight differences in shape, color, and texture. Use eyes, hands and fingers to operate delicate and sensitive equipment. Work precisely and accurately. Follow technical instructions which may be oral, written, or in the form of charts or drawings. Use measurable and verifiable information for making decisions or judgments.

Collects and processes all specimen types. Participates in proficiency testing.

Ensures that patient results are reported correctly and seek help when corrective action is needed. Follows all quality control and patient reporting processes. Completes competency backssment. Competent with the LIS and HER systems. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Science. 2. Eligible for ASCP or equivalent (must obtain within 12-months of hire) required. 3. Good interpersonal communication skills. 4. Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
