The Imam will cover weekly services such as Friday Jummah (Prayer). Job Title: Medical Technologists/Clinical Laboratory Scientists (MT/CLS)Based at: Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System in Temple, Texas A.
Must possess comprehensive knowledge of professional Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Laboratory Technician principles, practices, concepts, andtheories providing for sound independent work.
B. Must possess comprehensive knowledge of laboratory quality control, quality assuranceprocedures, and principles of performance improvement providing for soundindependent work. Responsibilities A. Is expected to use independent technical judgment to analyze and interpret laboratoryresults B. Will perform, evaluate, interpret, correlate, and validate the accuracy of laboratoryprocedures and results. C. Requires a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with
minimaltechnical supervision. D. Will be required to monitor quality control systems and measures.
E. Requires the ability to interpret and apply complex written instructions. F. Must utilize basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and be able to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation G. May need to resolve problems encountered in the laboratory. Must be able tocommunicate, consult, and interact with other members of the healthcare team, external relations, customer service, and patient education Duties include but are not limited to: A. Will perform a broad range of laboratory procedures, including advanced and complexlaboratory procedures. Must be able to recognize deviation from expected results anduse scientific principles to analyze and correct problems.
B. Evaluate and solve problems related to collection and processing of biologicalspecimens for analysis accounting for physiologic processes and requirements. C. Maintain and document the optimal functioning of laboratory equipment. Use, calibrate, and identify malfunctions; repair and perform preventive maintenance oflaboratory equipment. D. Troubleshoot issues with laboratory instruments and resolve problems. Diagnosedeviations in test performance due to instrument malfunction.
E. Perform and document quality control and quality assurance activities and correctiveactions related to test performance using statistical principles and theories ofperformance improvement. F. Identify discrepancies, solve problems, and present solutions. G. Answer inquiries regarding test results, methodology, test specificity, test sensitivity, and specific factors which influence test results. Interpret results and suggest follow‐uptest selection or procedures. Must meet all acceptable quality and productivity standards as defined by Chief, P&LMS ordesignee. Specific Requirements A. Technologist must have a Bachelor of Science Degreeii. Technologist must have Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientistgeneralist certification from a nationally recognized accrediting agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT etc. )iii.
