engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. The Massage Therapist will apply a range of massage techniques to relieve pain in muscles, soft tissues, and other parts of the body. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform Massage Therapy for YMCA members.
Develop and propose client treatment plans that specify which types of massage are to be used Consult with clients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain in to determine whether massage would be helpful Develops positive relationships with participants and provides motivational support and guidance. Increases participant awareness of all healthy lifestyle factors. Monitors care and maintenance of all
program facilities and equipment with particular concern for the health and safety of participants and ensures repairs are made as needed. Ensure accurate records of massages performed.
Attends staff meetings and trainings as required. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures. Conveys basic knowledge of all program areas to members and participants. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary. Incorporates the mission, philosophy and core values of the YMCA in all communication with participants and co-workers. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 21 years of age Current CPR/AED/BBP (within 30 days of hire) Current State of Colorado Massage
License REQUIRMENTS/CERTIFICATIONS: Must hold a current Colorado massage therapy license Experience working in a spa or therapy center environment preferred Experience preferred as a professional massage therapist Proficient knowledge of reflexology, Swedish, prenatal, trigger point, sports, and deep tissue massage Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Exceptional computer skills Great interpersonal skills Dexterous and able to stand for extended periods Ability to keep a well-groomed, professional appearance Ability to perform massages on diverse clients Salary range: $22-32 per hour based on experience and education.
In addition, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English.
Hours will be determined by appointment times set between the client and the massage therapist.
