This position differs from the Tree Care Manager in that the latter is independently responsible for all system-wide tree care work including: generating new tree proposals, developing the work schedules of all tree care crews, and being solely accountable for the profit and loss of the Tree Care Division.

Full responsibility for multiple tree care jobs by managing labor, materials, time, and customer expectations efficiently; inspects diverse species of trees for damage from insects, injury and disease; reviews all customer requests for pruning or removals; oversees the performance of specialized pruning and takedowns, installing cabling and bracing, operating equipment (e.
g. chainsaws, chippers, hand tools, stump grinders, bucket trucks) safely; recommends solutions regarding species selection and site location; produces tree trimming schedules, proposals, and inventories; addresses organic
and environmental hazards associated with tree trimming (e. g. utility lines, space requirements, use of cranes); tracks project status and closes projects appropriately; completes necessary paperwork (e.
g. invoices, time cards, safety documents); secures all local safety permits and right of way considerations; attends safety meetings; trains, coaches, disciplines, and does follow-up on staff as required; conducts necessary job documentation; complies with and role models administrative policies and procedures; is available for " on call" emergencies; and provides excellent service (e. g. accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and Bemus staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES Knowledge of: arboriculture; tree identification, tree wounding/pruning, and tree removal; safe work practices involving equipment (e. g. chain saws, chippers, truck buckets) and tree climbing procedures (e. g. processes, PPE, teamwork); aerial rescue; local procedures associated with securing permits, right of way, and traffic control issues; basic mathematics; principles of supervision; administrative procedures (e. g. time cards, equipment inventory, punch lists); Microsoft Office suite; methods of project/time management; and Bemus customer service objectives, norms, and strategies.
