Responsibilities of a Dishwasher include: Operate dishwasher. Keep entire dish area clean. Store dishes and flatware properly. Remove refuse cans. Clean dish machine. Clean china storage equipment. Sweep entire kitchen and dining area. Mop entire kitchen and dining area. Clean walk-in refrigerators and freezers. Wash, rinse
and store pots, pans and serving utensils. Dispose of unwanted, unusable portions of food items properly.
Clean and properly sterilize refuse cans. Assist in storing and stocking shelves in dry storage, freezers and walk-in coolers. Store serving trays in serving line as needed. Place necessary china and glassware in appropriate areas. Deliver food carts to floors for residents. Check dish machine daily for needed chemical supplies. Replenish hand towels and hand soap to proper dispensers. Retrieve food carts from floors after meals. Rack trays and dishes after washing and rinsing to dry properly. Clean shelves and racks for storage of all china ware and utensils on a daily basis.
Clean and sanitize can opener on a daily basis. Check temperature in compartment sinks. Check temperature on dish machine on a daily basis. Sweep and mop hallways. Mop and scrub loading dock and outside area. Hose down and clean trash dumpsters. Assist dietary aides in the removal of unused food items and chinaware if needed. Clean all floor drains. Store all brooms and mops in a downward position after each use. Replace mops and brooms as needed. Assist waitresses or supervisors in lifting heavy items. Clean racks that are used to transport food to the nursing stations on a daily basis.
Sweep and clean the break room at the close of each day. Assist in the storage room as assigned. Keep walls, ceilings and vents clean. Requirements of a Dishwasher : High school diploma. Must be at least 18 years of age. Able to work weekends and holidays. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Knowledge of all kitchen equipment.
