During the Bench program, culinarians will be assigned to a commutable training kitchen and work alongside the Divisional and Campus Executive Chef to complete the onboarding and training experience over the course of 12 to 16 weeks. From overseeing multi-unit kitchen operations and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment to leading and developing the team, you will learn the ins and outs of our organization and culture. After completing training, relocation within an assigned division will be required for
placement opportunity. There may be some travel to support new and/or existing accounts prior to final placement.
Once the training program is complete, this Executive Chef will be required to relocate to another region in the United States once the 12-to-16-week training is complete to focus on providing both trendy catering menu items and exciting retail menu options for our Higher Education campus clients. You will create seasonal, on-trend, plant forward, locally sourced items for high profile catering events, everyday retail menu items, and for season specials. Key Responsibilities: Manages cost controls and controls expenditures for the account Plans and creates all menus Purchases and manages inventory Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with marketing and culinary team Preferred Qualifications: Culinary degree preferred Three to five years of culinary management experience High volume production and catering experience is essential Experience in managing multiple operational food service units Previous experience managing cost controls Desire to learn and grow with a top notch food service company Apply to Chartwells Higher Education today!
