our team, you will support ongoing projects targeting the analysis and design of utility-scale quantum computers. In collaboration with experts in quantum algorithms and quantum computer hardware, you will develop analytical methods and software tools to quantify logical and physical resources for fault-tolerant, utility-scale quantum computing, with the goals of backssing feasibility and identifying tradeoffs in the design space.

Major Duties/Responsibilities: Implement software and analytical methods to estimate computational resources for state-of-the-art fault tolerance schemes Implement software and analytical methods to estimate physical resources for promising quantum computing architectures Study the impact of design choices on resource-performance tradeoffs and investigate new opportunities

D. in physics, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline At least 1 year of training or experience in quantum computing Fluency in at least one scientific computing language (C/C++, Fortran, Python, Matlab, Julia, etc. ) Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years of training or experience in quantum computing Working knowledge of leading quantum error correction and fault tolerance schemes Experience in collaborative software development, including distributed source control, testing, and documentation Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
