Duties and Responsibilities The individual is expected to develop a strong and competitively funded independent research program to address emerging issues in the field of meat science and the meat industry in support of the activities of the Center red meat plant located in the CAFST at FVSU.
The selected individual must develop and establish comprehensive meat science training curricula to include but not limited to live animal evaluation, carcass grading, fabrication, and development of value-added products; supervise undergraduate and graduate students; work with the meat plant manager to train students and other
constituents interested in industry work experiences and internships; lead students in extracurricular learning experiences; and provide training to support the teaching faculty; serve as the liaison between the Small Ruminant Research and Extension Center and the meat industry; perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY: A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available immediately for two-three years for a project on food quality issues with pecans at the Agricultural Research Station under the College of Agriculture, Family Sciences and Technology, FVSU. The postdoctoral research associate will be part of a research team to enhance food safety in pecan processing. The postdoctoral
research associate will have opportunities working with USDA-ARS scientists. The incumbent will conduct experiments, analyze data, prepare reports, and submit manuscripts in a timely fashion for project and peer-reviewed publications, train, and mentor graduate students, and assist with proposal writing.
Experience working outside of laboratory settings or field work will be beneficial. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should possess a Ph. D. in Food Science and Technology or a closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in flavor/analytical chemistry (GC-MS, GC-Olfactometry, HPLC, etc. ), publication records, communication skills, and the ability to
