The Mount Carmel Critical Care Nurse Fellowship Program is a 27-week full-time clinical and educational program that utilizes the American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN) Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO) to help new graduates build a solid foundation for practicing in a critical care setting.
Colleagues hired into the Critical Care Fellowship Program will not only engage in the interactive learning platform provided by the ECCO online content, but also will participate in simulations, intensive didactic coursework and precepted clinical shifts to grow their critical care nursing career. Nurses will be hired directly into one of our critical care units across the system and be assigned to qualified preceptors for support, guidance and education throughout each clinical rotation.
This is a highly engaging program and is being offered to a limited number of highly motivated new grads who have a desire to learn and grown. During the Critical Care Nurse Fellowship, graduate nurses will concurrently participate in the Nurse Residency Program. The Nurse Residency Program, in collaboration with Vizient/AACN, has provided health care organizations with a transition-to-practice program for new graduate nurses. This transition to competent nursing practice is supported by evidence-based curriculum that is customized to reflect the values and mission of our organization, access to content experts, and participation in an evidence-based practice (EBP) project.
