Job Summary: Under general supervision, provides assistance in performing day to day testing and data recording operations.
Acts as a subject matter expert in raw materials, formation coating processes, and materials. THIS IS SHIFTWORK! 12 hour (rotating shifts) both days and nights. Job Responsibilities: Tests raw materials and intermediate process streams to ensure that the process is in control and will result in consistent finished products. Produces intermediate
process streams as necessary to support operations. Collects, prepares, tests and ships all samples. Performs process verification checks for raw materials, production, and coating processes.
Completes required testing in a timely manner. Maintains quality records. Supports related functions across other departments as needed. Provides training and guidance to junior staff. Provides input to troubleshooting efforts at the direction of the Lead. Maintains and promotes a safe, accident free, work environment. Performs equipment calibration and user maintenance on testing equipment Performs OSW and other HMOS duties in the Lab Performs quality control checks on manufacturing lines Performs
other duties as required. Desired Education & Experience: Minimum: High School or GED, plus four years of experience in manufacturing Preferred: 2 Year / Associate Degree, plus two years of experience in manufacturing.
Desired Skills & Certifications: Previous experience with paint and coatings, either painting or in a lab setting at a technician or formulating level is preferred. Previous experience using rudimentary lab equipment – scales, balances, etc. is preferred. Previous construction experience (home building or as a hobby) is preferred. Capable of understanding and following basic laboratory procedures. Capable of performing developmental work which requires him/her to make and record careful observations.
Communicates very well with project team members to develop sampling and specimen preparation schemes. Capable of performing data analysis, knows basic mathematics, statistical analysis and data processing by Excel or Minitab. Demonstrates understanding of related testing requirements across multiple departments, products, and processes. Capable to operator power equipment such as a tile saw Capable of driving/getting certified on forklifts. Capable of coaching operators to adhere to quality standards Physical Requirements: Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Ability to traverse inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
