needs of the residents of the Minnesota Veterans Home-Minneapolis and to administer the Chaplaincy through the coordination and provision of religious services, pastoral counseling to individuals, and the availability of counsel in crisis situations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following backss the spiritual strength and needs of the residents upon admission and as needed. Assure all residents receive spiritual care based upon their history and present need regardless of their ability to actively participate. Plan and conduct worship services and faith-based activities (bible study, devotions, etc. ) in coordination with Therapeutic Recreation staff. Schedule
communion monthly. Plan and conduct special services (processions of honor, quarterly and individual memorials, holy days, etc.

Minimum Qualifications To qualify, applicants must meet either of the following criteria: Master of Divinity degree or a related degree program from a graduate school accredited by the Association of Theological Schools Completion of a minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education. OR Bachelor's degree in Theology or related degree program 2 years of experience performing independent pastoral care and counseling in a parish or specialized ministry setting Completion of a minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
AND Thorough knowledge of community-based religious resources available to residents. Exceptional human relations skills sufficient to provide pastoral care, counseling, and empathy for the issues. experienced by residents in a private and confidential manner. Communication and presentation skills sufficient to conduct services that are creative and engaging. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Chaplain in long-term care Additional Requirements Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists.
