to perform as a working Crew Chief performing the basic maintenance and facility maintenance coordination duties along with other duties as assigned. This position will provide guidance and leadership to Utility Workers, Custodians, Gardeners and Painters in the West Section.

Work location: West Point Treatment Plant - 1400 Discovery Park Blvd. Seattle, WA 98199 Work Schedule: The treatment plants are operated 24/7.

This position can be at 5-8 or a 4-10 schedule. Applicants must be available to work any assigned schedule. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.

approval to change schedules and activities when necessary; ensure required materials and equipment are available to perform assigned work.

All work in this classification is performed as a " working lead" Incumbent must function effectively as an individual contributor and a team leader. Oversee the work performed by assigned crews or work units who repair and maintain a variety of facilities in WTD in plant and off-site; ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; resolve minor performance and behavior problems occurring in the field; refer more serious issues to Supervisor for appropriate action.

Investigate, resolve and/or recommend a resolution of citizen complaints; refer complex and sensitive issues to Supervisor. Prepare job estimates for review/approval of Supervisor. Respond to emergencies such as floods, snow and ice storms, etc. Coordinate with agencies in Washington State, King County and city on timing and location of maintenance or repair work. Identify and recommend training for crew members and self. Provide written input to supervisor on employee performance evaluations. Monitor job site safety, identifying safety hazards and unsafe practices; correct problems or recommend corrective action when problems are identified.

Prepare and maintain records and reports to ensure that the work is accomplished efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and policies. Coordinate ice and snow removal activities of an assigned facility. Participate in the development of an ice and snow plan for a given site and manage necessary supplies, equipment, and materials related to ice and snow removal. Monitor the use of related tools, equipment and machinery; coordinate routine and preventative maintenance. Order supplies and maintain inventories of buildings, grounds and landscape-related materials, services, equipment, and machinery for landscape projects Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Minimum Requirements: Knowledge equivalent to or three (3) years' journey-level experience in Facility; Maintenance of a Wastewater Treatment plant; Knowledge of building, crafts, and mechanical trades; Knowledge of King County, Washington State and federal laws and regulations pertaining to wastewater treatment Knowledge of workload planning principles; Knowledge of job/project estimating principles and techniques Skill in communications (oral and written); Ability to maintain confidentiality Knowledge of safety procedures; Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques and supervisory skills Skill in reading blueprints and schematic drawings; Skill in computers, Mainsaver and Work Order processing; Skill in Project development A valid unencumbered Washington State Driver's License Required Licenses or Certifications Washington State Driver's License Additional licenses, certifications and other requirements determined to be necessary to meet the business needs of the employing unit may be required.
