This position helps to develop and maintain high-quality, evidence-based care through education and training.

This position supports the nursing team and maintains a strong component of patient/family advocacy with day-to-day review and coordination of multidisciplinary services. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise. ) Experience: 3 years of acute care, ED or Critical Care experience required. Must have experience caring

for stroke and septic patients. Education and Training: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN required. Masters preferred. Comprehensive Stroke Course completion required.

License, Certification # Registration: RN License - Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts. Specialty Certification within two years. Other Requirements: BLS/ACLS required. Demonstrates continuing education in accordance with State regulations. Must demonstrate excellent time management skills and be able to work independently. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use a prosthetic that will enable these senses to function adequately

so the requirements of the position can be fully met. Other Addendum(s) Requirements: Must possess and demonstrate the skills necessary to analyze information, identify problems, recognize relevant factors, patterns, and relationships, formulate logical and objective conclusions, and evaluate alternatives.

Experience in performance improvement and data management preferred. Must possess skills in organization, prioritizing, performing, and completing a variety of duties and projects simultaneously, working with various multidisciplinary teams, under deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively utilizing both written and verbal communication strategies with all staff, patients, and families.

Monday through Thursday 9:00am-2:00pm, Friday 9:00am-1:00pm. DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONIn addition to fulfilling the Registered Professional Nurse job description, the Stroke/Sepsis RN Coordinator collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to provide care for stroke and septic patients.
