About the role Scaling to $1B ARR and beyond means we must build a go-to-market engine that drives growth across dozens of product SKUs, sales segments, buyer personas, and countries. That’s where you come in. As the first Marketing Research Lead, you

will build the function from scratch to power the customer insights needed to understand different segments, personas, and buyer journeys. This role is highly cross-functional.

You will work closely with Rippling’s Marketing, Brand, Sales, and Product teams. We’d love to talk to you if you have a strong GM mindset, obsess about customers, and exhibit sharp research instincts. Research is a growing practice that supports strategic decision-making on key marketing and product initiatives. Our research team works closely with teams and leadership across the organization, from R&D to marketing and business operations. codes. This role will be based in our San Francisco office. What you will do Define and execute the marketing research roadmap for GTM segments (SMB, mid-market, enterprise, partners) in close partnership with marketing, brand, sales, and research leadership Identify, prioritize, and answer strategic and tactical research questions that have a direct impact on business needs Plan and conduct research activities, applying qualitative and quantitative methods as appropriate Apply diverse analysis approaches (drawn from HCI, social science, and statistics) to ensure accurate signals from data Triangulate data from existing research, other internal data, and 3rd party sources to make actionable recommendations Communicate and evangelize research findings, insights, and recommendations to marketing teams, sales, and executive stakeholders to inform business decisions: Source appropriate participants from our research panel and through 3rd party vendors / professional panels Level up research skills on the GTM team, scaling research processes (such as rolling research, usage of internal ML tools, and rigorous data analysis) What you will need 7+ years of experience in applied research, collaborating closely with cross-functional team(s), including marketing (product marketing), growth, and brand.

Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods, including advanced analysis and interpretive frameworks Demonstrate a track record of deriving insights from complex buyer ecosystems and evangelizing actionable frameworks and recommendations to influence marketing and product decision-making. Experience with marketing strategy, B2B marketing, brand and/or growth marketing, A knack for identifying business opportunities. a curiosity for delving into the landscape of B2B products, diverse industries, and decision-making, and a drive to get teams engaged in research Communication and presentation skills that leverage insights, story-telling, and data to influence cross-functional teams and executives.

Ability to prioritize and scale research in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently, with limited supervision, and take initiative to solve complex problems Facilitation experience for in-person and distributed teams–this includes brainstorming and workshop techniques Familiarity with conducting research with professional audiences and users, including responsibility for participant recruitment An advanced degree in social sciences, humanities, HCI, business, or related field An opinion: “More research” and “It depends” aren’t your go-to answers derived from confidence in the thoroughness of your work.
