KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Development Coordinator will support outreach and engagement efforts for a rapidly growing base of donors in the following areas: Fundraising and Cultivation Activities & Events Assist with monitoring timelines, production schedules and scripts, and support as required with event day coordination Record and track event data and constituent information, including budget information, registration lists, and results Support all donor appreciation and/or cultivation events At the direction of the Senior Development Manager, assist with third-party event logistics and communications with hosts Provide support in the planning and execution of the annual fall fundraising event
(currently called Sheltering ).
Responsibilities include maintaining host and guest lists, prompt communication with hosts and guests, as well as logistics Work closely with fall event sponsors to ensure they have all event information, and that we have up-to-date logos Assist with filming client impact video and other pre-recorded videos for fall event.
Additional support will be required for pre-production Assist with social media content related to events Individual Giving and Donor Stewardship Work closely with the Senior Development Manager to update and improve the structure of the annual giving circle (Sophia's Society) Support special events for Sophia's Society, two to
three events annually (Zoom or in-person); manage guest lists, communications, and event set-up Regularly welcome new donors and provide the opportunity for additional engagement with The Sophia Way Provide weekly donor appreciation call lists to Volunteer Coordinator, Senior Development Manager, and/or Executive Directors, as needed Provide printed donor acknowledgements to signers and process for mailing Operations, Infrastructure, and Other Roles Attend Development Team meetings Cross-train with the Data Entry Assistant to ensure the continuity of gift entry Help ensure the smooth operation of the office and other duties as assigned Supervision Received: Position reports to the Senior Development Manager Supervision Exercised: none at this time though is likely to engage with volunteers Educational Qualifications: Life experience, prior employment, education, and life-long learning will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Professional certifications and/or degrees in fundraising or nonprofit management are a bonus, but not necessary. Position Qualifications: Outstanding attention-to-detail and proactive approach to managing time-sensitive and competing workloads Ability to manage multiple tasks and work as part of a cohesive team Demonstrated capacity to work with minimal supervision Good sense of accountability, strong dependability, and impeccable integrity Flexible schedule outside of typical working hours, with the ability and willingness to work occasional nights or weekends Concern for and capacity to relate to those we serve Ability to speak to issues of homelessness Demonstrated ability to learn, understand, and utilize computer applications related to the organization, including Raiser's Edge, and/or other fundraising and communications platforms and systems (database experience a plus) Excellent interpersonal, presentation, relationship-building, and communication skills - both written and verbal - that transcend diverse audiences Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment and in a spirit of cooperation Ability to embody the community-oriented spirit of the Sophia Way to both internal and external constituents Physical Requirements Long periods of being in a stationary position; operating a computer and other office equipment; frequently moving to/from various work areas, including TSW's locations; occasionally ascending/descending stairs; frequently communicating by phone and email; frequently remaining in a stationary position during meetings, discerning meeting content, expressing oneself, and exchanging accurate information; frequently moving to/from off-site meeting and/or event locations; occasionally moves supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions Primary location in typical business office environment, with frequent meetings and event attendance at a variety of off-site locations. Work from home option possible, 1 to 2 days a week.
