We are looking for a motivated individual who can function in a flexible, fast paced production environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality,
and productivity. This position is responsible for contributing to the day to day functions. The Operator will be able to recognize and correct or report any safety, quality or production issues utilizing the means and tools provided.
This is a full hands-on position with limited supervision that requires initiative and a self-driven approach. It is the expectation to follow instructions and work constructively to insure shipment deadlines are met and unloading is conducted within the guidelines given. This position is responsible for following all safety procedures and having the courage to intervene when observing unsafe practices by co-workers. This position is also responsible for
a high level of quality, productivity and superior housekeeping.
The operator will be in contact with the lead person, shipping department and with customer service. The operator needs to assure that loads are accurate and damage free. All incoming loads will have to be off loaded in a timely manner and put into the correct location. The following qualifications are desired: Work related experience in loading and unloading while following established safety procedures Must pass all LOTT training Must know how to drive a fork lift and a box clamp Must perform daily lift checks Willing to work all shifts, and weekends as needed Demonstrates basic knowledge of operating systems Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision-making skills Perform well with limited direct supervision Must keep accurate counts when loading and unloading Assist in taking inventory when required Excellent housekeeping inside the warehouse and outside the docks Must flex with the plant as needed Be a positive example of citizenship (behavior, attendance, attitude, etc) Maintain a good working relationship with the people you work with Lockout procedures must be followed as specified in Safety Manual and operators must sign off on all JSA’s and Lockout Procedures a minimum of every six months.
Must maintain excellent housekeeping inside the department and outside the docks. Will need to learn to operate Bander and complete safety LOTT training to fill in as needed. The qualifications for Forklift Drivers are the ability to meet the requirements of the job with or without accommodation; the ability to read, write, and speak English; the ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler; the ability to use basic shop math; the ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team. A high school diploma (or GED) is required.
One to two years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is required. Experience in the corrugated or converting industry is preferred, but not required.
