Summary:
Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in all areas related to Production in the warehouse by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Directly supervises the Assistant Production Manager, Production Supervisors, Group Leaders and Production Workers. Also manages/supervises the Maintenance Department personnel. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Personnel responsibilities include timesheet approvals and reconciliation, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; monitoring
attendance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Safety responsibilities include ensuring a safe work environment, identifying unsafe practices and identification of compliance completion, and maintain enforcement of safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities: Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications and delivery dates of products ordered Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating challenges Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
Ensures production quality is consistent with current standards Ensures all safety policies and procedures are being adhered to and addresses issues when there is noncompliance Qualifications Experience in a Production Manager or Assistant Production Manager role is required Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel Understanding of manufacturing, quality and project management systems Understanding of forecasting and budgeting Must be able to meet deadlines, multi-task, and work under pressure Excellent organizational, leadership and team building skills A strong problem-solver and decision maker; lead proactively, be self-motivated, and make sound business decisions Able to build strong relationships and be able to communicate at all levels Understanding of Quality Improvement Process, 6S, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma process improvement a plus Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B.
