Environmental Health & Justice Campaign is EHC's sister 501(c)(4) organization. Position Overview: As a canvasser at EHC, the majority of your job will be contacting people to inform them about issues that affect their community such as how/where to vote, and how to support local government policies to improve air quality, public transportation, and

green spaces. This is a PART-TIME - Temporary position, working approximately 16 hours per week; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Makes phone callsfrom a remote workspace of choice or the EHC office Knocks on doors in neighborhoods such as Barrio Logan, Logan Heights, City Heights, and National City (while maintaining 6 ft.

of distance) Drops off flyers or other literature on doorsteps of the same communities listed above Gathers signatures in public spaces, community meetings, etc. Attends trainings and workshops to better understand environmental justice issues Helps with set up and break down of some events REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS : Must

be 18 years of age or older Have a quiet workspace to make phone calls remotely when not required to make calls from the EHC office Good communication skills Punctuality and good work ethic Committed to empowering others in how to make their voices heard in local government Ability to get to required locations on time via reliable transportation.

Sunday work may be required (Get Out The Vote Weekend) phone or tablet with pre-paid data plan provided by EHC - no need to use your personal device PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS : Bilingual (Spanish, Tagalog or Vietnamese) Access to dependable Wi-Fi ideal Prior experience making phone calls, door knocking, or sales/customer service experience a plus Lives or has family in the communities of Barrio Logan, National City, or City Heights Personal vehicle PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed primarily in a community setting and office work at a desk on a computer and phone; employee regularly walks while operating electronic equipment 4 to 5 hours per day; occasionally lifts, carries, and positions objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Must be prepared to work in all kinds of outdoor weather. The position also involves the use of a computer and keyboard, tablet, scanner, telephone, and face-to-face communications; an employee must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in all these manners.

Position may include standing at event tables and walking a neighborhood for several hours on an as-needed basis. The employee may spend periods sitting, standing, or walking.
