Position Description A Line Packer/Inspector removes painted parts from holding fixtures before wrapping or packing. Determines acceptable condition of parts and quality level required under the Line Leads.
Responsible for examining a painted parts for finish quality. Critical Outcomes Packing parts according to the supplied specification sheet Reporting to Lead Packer or Supervisor any problems with parts packaging specification or process. Basic analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills Key Responsibilities Removes painted Parts from hooks, hanging or holding fixtures or screens in a timely manner.
Visually inspects parts to assure the finish meet customer requirements. Wraps or packs parts as specified on the specification sheet or by Production Line Supervisor, Line Lead Packer, and/or Quality Assurance Department. Separates conforming and nonconforming parts according to finish quality, separating parts for further processing as follows: light (repaint), sanding, or stripping as specified by the Line Lead Packer, Production Line Supervisor, and/or Quality Assurance Department. Maintains work area
in a clean and orderly fashion. Maintains and cleans the packaging area on the production line.
Reports to the Line Lead Packer, Quality Assurance Department and/or Production Line Supervisor any potential finish problems with a part. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat and cold.
